What moves the price

  • The lock. A euro cylinder swap is the quickest job; a mortice deadlock can mean cutting or adjusting the door.
  • The standard. Anti-snap cylinders (TS 007 3 star or SS 312 Diamond) and BS 3621 deadlocks cost more than basic locks, and insurers often ask for them.
  • How many locks. Front, back and side doors keyed alike are usually quoted together.
  • The door. A dropped uPVC door or a split timber frame needs putting right before a new lock will work properly.
  • Timing. MyJobQuote adds £50 to £100 for out-of-hours work.
