For locksmiths

Premium for locksmiths

Every listing is free and stays free, and enquiries with the customer's job card come by email on any claimed listing, with no lead fee and no commission: you keep the whole job. Premium costs £12 a month plus VAT and adds an enquiry inbox, your price list, 24 photos, your availability and a reply note. It includes a yearly check by a person, and the Owner verified badge once that check is done. Premium never changes where your listing appears.

How the verification check works

A person rings the phone number your business already publishes, or emails the address it publishes, never one sent to us, and confirms that you run the business and that the listing's details are current. If you give us an MLA, Buy With Confidence, Which? Trusted Traders, Auto Locksmiths Association or UK SERMI membership, we look each one up on that scheme's public register and note what we found. If you send a DBS certificate or your insurance certificate, we note that we saw it and its date, and nothing else from it. None of them is needed for the badge. The Owner verified badge appears once the check is done, not when you pay. It lasts a year from the check, and each year the check is made again. It does not check the standard of your work, and the badge does not say it does.

Does paying move a listing up?

No. On every town, county and service page the order is how recently a listing's public details were checked, then how complete they are. Premium buys no position, now or later, and a paid check never changes that date. Premium never changes where your listing appears.

What do the badges mean?

Owner verified (paid check): within the last year a person confirmed with the business, on the phone number or email it already publishes, that it runs this listing and that the details were current. It comes with Premium. Premium (paid plan): the business pays for the Premium tools. Both carry the word paid wherever they appear, and neither is a review, a rating or a recommendation.

The small print

Who you pay
locksmiths.trade, whose address is in the terms. Stripe takes the payment; card details go to Stripe and never reach this site.
Prices
Premium is £12 a month plus VAT, and it is the only paid plan. VAT is charged on every payment at the standard rate of 20%: Premium is £12 a month plus VAT, which is £14.40 a month including VAT.
Renewal
Premium renews automatically every month until you cancel.
Cancelling
Any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. It takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and the plan is not renewed after it. There are no refunds for part of a period except where the law requires one.
Buying as a business
Premium is sold to locksmith businesses for use in the business, and you confirm that, and that you accept the terms, with a tick box before you pay.
One listing per plan
Premium covers one listing. If you run two listings, for example in two towns under two names, each needs its own Premium for the paid tools to show on it.
When a plan ends
The badges come off at the end of the paid period. Your price list, photos, reply note and availability stop showing at once, are kept for 90 days in case you come back, and are then deleted. Enquiries by email carry on, and each is deleted 12 months after it arrived. Your listing stays where it is.

Questions

How do I start?

Claim your listing on the claim page. If your email address is on your own website's domain the claim goes through at once; otherwise a person checks it against the details your business already publishes. Then sign in with a one-time link and choose Premium from your dashboard, or stay on the free claimed listing.

Do I need Premium to get enquiries?

No. Enquiries by email are free on every claimed listing, with no lead fee and no commission: you keep the whole job. Each one carries the customer's job card: the job, the door and the lock, how many locks, whether the keys are lost or stolen, whether they own or rent, whether it is for an insurance claim, and when they need you. Premium adds an inbox in your dashboard where they all sit together.

Why is there no badge straight after I pay?

Because the badge says a person has checked, and that happens after you pay. We ring the number your business already publishes, usually within two working days, and the badge appears once the check is done.

How does the price list work?

You enter your own prices: a lockout in the day and in the evening, at night or a weekend, call-out fees if you charge them, your hourly rate, a cylinder, anti-snap and mortice lock change, a uPVC mechanism, a car lockout, and your starting price for car keys and for opening a safe, plus up to 20 extras. You say whether your prices include VAT. A customer who has filled in a job card sees "your job here: about £X" on your profile, worked out from your own prices and labelled as yours, with a reminder to ask you for the total before anyone sets off.

What does availability say?

Whatever you set: "Taking calls now", "24 hours", or "Next free:" and a date. Change it when it stops being true. It never says when anyone will arrive, and nothing else on the site does either.

Which photos can I add?

Up to 24 photos of your van, your workshop and work you did yourself, with captions. Pair a before with its after and they show side by side. No stock images, no other firms' work, nothing that shows how a lock or door could be opened, and no photo of a customer's home they have not agreed to.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. Your listing carries on as a free claimed listing, in the same place.

When does the Owner verified badge come off?

When Premium ends, and also if the yearly re-check is not done, because a badge that outlives its check would be a false claim.

Free for every locksmith

The job sheet is free to print with your business name and logo, claimed or not: proof of residence seen, the price agreed before work, and the standard of each lock you fitted.
