Job sheet

One printable sheet for every job, free for any UK locksmith: the proof of residence or ownership you saw, the price agreed before work started, the work done, the locks fitted and the standard each is marked with, and the customer's signature. Type your business name and it prints at the top.

Why keep a job sheet

Opening a door for someone who cannot prove they live there is the one mistake a locksmith cannot take back. A note of the ID and the proof of address you saw, signed by the customer, shows you asked.

A price agreed before work starts, written down with the call-out, labour, parts and VAT, is what the customer can point to later, and so can you. And when the job is for an insurer, the standard marked on each lock you fitted (BS 3621, TS 007 3 star or SS 312 Diamond) is what the insurer asks for.

A template, not legal advice. Read the sheet through before you use it and change anything that does not fit how you work. The cancellation note is a summary: check the current gov.uk guidance.

Cancellation

A contract made at the customer's home is usually an off-premises contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, with a 14-day right to cancel. That right does not apply where the customer asked for the visit to carry out urgent repairs or maintenance, though it can apply to anything extra agreed on the visit. Check the current gov.uk guidance.
