About UPVC Locksmiths

UPVC Locksmiths is a mobile locksmith service run by Neil Clarke for customers in and around Towcester, near Northampton. Neil has worked as a locksmith for 15 years, and before training in the trade he worked as a close protection officer for 30 years. He describes himself as a Yale Doormaster registered locksmith.

The services listed are lock installation, lock repair, changing locks and upgrading to a new system. Neil repairs multipoint locking systems on uPVC and composite doors, including realignments, replacement parts such as the gearbox unit, and new multipoint systems. He also fits British Standard mortice locks and upgrades cylinders to snap-secure versions for solid wood doors, and offers ERA lockguard lift handles for upgrades that help prevent cylinder snapping.

The work covers uPVC, composite, patio, traditional wood and commercial doors. Neil also installs coded key safes, and fits locks in blocks of flats and business premises in line with fire regulations. Locks can be chosen to suit the type of property, including to meet insurance requirements.

The locksmith works alone and independently, outside any franchise network, and chooses the products to suit each property. Before locksmithing he worked for 30 years in close protection, and he has now worked as a locksmith for 15 years.

He carries a range of parts and replacement gearbox systems, so a job can usually be done on the first visit if the customer goes ahead. Advice covers choosing the right lock for each property type, including locks for flats and business premises that satisfy fire regulations.

Estimates are given on the spot, and the work can go ahead there and then.

On uPVC and composite doors he realigns doors, replaces gearbox units and installs new multipoint locking systems. Upgrades include snap-resistant cylinders and ERA Lockguard lift lock handles to stop cylinder snapping. For solid wood doors he fits British Standard mortice locks. Existing multipoint locks or cylinders can be upgraded rather than replaced, with the options weighed against the customer's budget.
