For locksmiths
How to Get Listed on locksmiths.trade
Listing on locksmiths.trade is free. A locksmith is listed in the town where public evidence shows they are based, with their own landline or mobile number. You can claim, correct or remove a listing at no cost. Premium, at £12 a month plus VAT, adds a price list, photos and availability. There are no lead fees, and badges never change the order.
How does a locksmith get listed?
Listings are built from public evidence that a business is based where the page says it is: a street address, a named place, or a postcode district. A locksmith who works across a wide area is listed in the town they are based in, and the towns they cover are shown on their page.
Every listing carries the business's own number, a landline or mobile. Numbers starting 03, 05, 08 or 09 are not listed, because a real local number is part of what tells customers they are calling the business, not a call centre.
National networks are listed under their own trading name, labelled as part of the network, and never counted as a local business.
How do you claim a listing?
Find your business, then use the claim link on its page. Claiming is free. Once you have claimed, you can:
- update your details, services, hours and the towns you cover - receive enquiries by email, each with the customer's job card: the job, the door and lock type, whether they rent or own, and how soon they need you - get a monthly report on how your listing is seen
If your business is not listed and you think it should be, use the contact form with the evidence of where you are based, such as your Google Business Profile, website or Companies House record.
How do you correct or remove a listing?
Use the modify listing form. Anyone can report a wrong detail, and the business can ask for its listing to be corrected or removed at any time, claimed or not, at no cost.
Say what is wrong and what it should be, and point to a public source that shows it, such as your website, Google Business Profile or Companies House record. If a detail is wrong because a public source is wrong, say so and point to the right one.
Removal is the business's choice; nobody has to be listed.
What does Premium add?
Premium costs £12 a month plus VAT. It adds:
- a price list, so customers see your own figures, and an estimate for their job based on your prices - up to 24 photos of your van, workshop and work - availability, such as 'Taking calls now' or 'Next free: Thu' - an inbox for enquiries, as well as email, and a reply note - an owner-verified badge, after a person has checked your details; credentials such as MLA, Buy With Confidence, Which? Trusted Traders, the Auto Locksmiths Association or SERMI are added if you supply them, along with DBS and insurance certificates seen
There are no lead fees and no commission. Customers call you directly.
Does Premium or a badge change where you appear?
No. Listings appear in the same order whether they are unclaimed, claimed or Premium, and badges never change it. There is no paid placement.
Credentials are shown only when a person has matched the business against the issuer's own public search, with the date of the check. That is why a credential appears only after that check, and why the site never describes a listed business as approved, accredited or certified in its own words: it names the scheme and the date checked instead.
Common questions
Is it free to be listed on locksmiths.trade?
Yes. Being listed, claiming your listing and correcting or removing it are all free. Premium is optional and costs £12 a month plus VAT, with no lead fees or commission on any job.
Why is my 0800 number not shown?
Listings show geographic or mobile numbers only, never numbers starting 03, 05, 08 or 09. A local number helps customers tell a business based nearby from a call centre.
Does paying for Premium move me up the list?
No. There is no paid placement. Premium adds a price list, photos and availability, but the order of listings is the same for every business.
